Laura Miles
Laura has over 20 years’ experience in the field of woven textiles, she has worked closely with established brands in both fashion and interiors worldwide,
Laura's strength is to act as the link between the inspiration of the client and the technical constraints of a machine or handwoven fabric.
Laura was instrumental in developing the fashion and accessories collection for Vanners mill in Suffolk and she is a specialist in jacquard fabric and woven construction.
In 2017 Laura founded Rare Thread studio with Kirsty McDougall working on collaborative projects in the fashion and interior industries.
She has taught woven design at the Royal College of Art and collaborated with the British Council on textile design projects in Uzbekistan and Indonesia.
In 2019 she set up a clothing brand, WOVEN working with the WomenWeave and Karghewale in Maheshwar India using their beautiful sustainable handwoven fabrics to make a collection of dresses and sleepwear.
